My Story - How I Became A Member And How DeviantArt Has Helped Me Grow As A Creative Individual
It was November 3rd 2004 (I'll be a member 10 years on this day in 2014
) and I was studying an art course, needing some inspiration I was googling sites that I might become a part of. I went through all of those ones that some are still going, like Flickr, etc, and after reading their information just found that they weren't for me. Then I came across DeviantArt, and I was instantly transfixed by the categories on display, even from the front page I was hooked! By the end of the week I had joined and began submitting art. For me in those days my art was poetry, and drawings, and to be frank I wasn't all that good at drawing anything really! My real passion was photography. As the weeks passed I became more interested in the people behind the profile pictures, behind the unusual and funky names! I realised that I had found a place that was going to be home for my creativity... And I'm still using it today
D.Art has helped me to grow, as an artist, through peoples comments and advice, and even the criticism sometimes, it's all been worth it. I went on to study photography, partly because of all those folk who believed in my work, who were supporting me daily, telling me I could do this, become better at this, and turn what was once a hobby into a career.
After many long years, and studying a degree (which didn't leave too much time for deviant surfing) I still use this site and I'm proud that my thousands of images are shared to the world. I've even been published through people seeing my work on my page on the web.
So thank you DeviantArt, and community, I wouldn't be the Creative Individual that I am today, without you!
Respect and Hugs, Sabrina
My latest works are some more nature macro, hope you guys aren't too bored of them just yet
